Ian started in brand management at Procter and Gamble before spending 18 years as a planner for DDB in London, being promoted to the board in 1992. He worked on many of the agency’s leading clients during a period when DDB London could lay claim to being the best agency in the world, and won numerous industry awards.

In 2005 he relocated to Melbourne with his family to run the DDB planning department and help run the agency itself. Currently he is one of a core group of strategic leaders for DDB at the regional level, and represents Asia at the worldwide level. Ian is passionate about live music, bird watching, literature and running DDB’s trivia nights.

His favourite Bill Bernbach quote? “All of us who professionally use the mass media are the shapers of society. We can vulgarize that society. We can brutalize it. Or we can help lift it onto a higher level.”
